Take a STAND for Yellowwood BCA!
The Yellowwood timber sale went through on Nov. 9. But the fight’s far from over and there is still much more you can do:
Tell Governor Holcomb to HAVE A HEART! Cancel the contract with Hamilton Logging and accept the generous $150,000 donation from businessman Bobby Bartlett, owner of Castlewood Corporation, a high-end hardwood flooring manufacturer in Tell City, Indiana. This donation can easily be accepted by the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation and create a win/win for everyone who cares about Yellowwood Back Country Area as well as the Indiana Division of Forestry budget.
Remember, YOUR voice counts! Hundreds of Hoosiers are mobilizing to save this forest. Thank you for joining the effort!
Here are 7 THINGS You Can Do to Save Yellowwood!
Keep the contacts to Gov. Holcomb coming! 317-232-4567 or GovHolcomb@gov.in.gov: ask him to accept the $150,000 offer — and to meet with a group of the 228 scientists who signed the letter asking to set aside areas like the Yellowwood Back County Area.
Contact your Indiana state legislators: ask them to approach the Governor about calling off the cut.
Write your local paper: participate in a huge new letter-to-the-editor effort. Speak from the heart in 200 words! Let’s keep the issue in the public eye.
Pick up a “Save Yellowwood” yard sign at the Indiana Forest Alliance office at 2123 N. Meridian St. in Indianapolis. (Call 317-602-3692 before you come).
Join or visit the encampment on private property at the end of Possum Trot Road next to the forest to be logged: 7154 N Possum Trot Rd, Unionville, Indiana
Know anyone who has contributed to Eric Holcomb’s campaign? Ask him or her to let the Governor know that the Yellowwood cut should be called off.
